The Bray family is quite extensive and has many branches. Our ancestor, John Bray was born abt 1760 in North Carolina. He married a woman named Jane. No further information has been confirmed about this couple. They had a son named Joshua J Bray who was born 1815 in Anderson County, Tennessee. Joshua married Ame Hall in 1834 in Robertsville, Anderson County, Tennessee. Joshua and Ame had a son named James born 1857 who married Mary Elizabeth Wallace. 

James and Mary's son was named John Archie, he was born on Jan 23, 1888 in Caryville, Campbell County, Tennessee.
