I dunno Susan, Hasten had no sons by his name but did have a nephew named after him that lived in Hamilton County and left descendants there. Another email mentioned a James Poe being brother to Hasten and settling in Alabama about the same time Hasten did in Tennessee who may have passed the name on down the lineage. All this group involvement has re sparked my interest in our genealogy. Damn you Will Poe but thanks for the inspiration! I'm about to go into the closet and drag out my 20 year old research files and look into some more possibilities. Here's a pic of a couple Poes from Hamilton County, Tennessee. The one on the right is Floyd Poe B. 1880's and the other guy is believed to be Porter Poe, his 1st cousin. susanaldridge2000@yahoo.de wrote: >Is it his son Hasten Poe who is listed as a Pauper in 1880 Alabama >census? >susan > > > >
